7 Exercises to Avoid After an Orthopaedic Surgery

                             



After orthopedic surgery, your body will be uncomfortable and will not feel like moving. It takes time for the body to adapt and possibly prolonged movement can hinder the healing process and cause further discomfort and pain. Do not stop its proper healing of desire and give your body time to recover and sooner or later you will be back in action again.  


About a week after surgery, you can start doing some light exercises like walking, stretching and night light. Keep everything in terms of comfort and do not push your body too. There are some exercises that you have to avoid after an orthopedic surgery.

Rushing


Running is a high impact, repetitive exercise that carries a high risk of injury and damage to the surgery area. Due to its high impact resistance, a small problem greatly increase the risk of pain and injury.


Cycling


While cycling is a low impact exercise that is safe and gentle on the joints of the knee, you should always avoid after orthopedic surgery. Cycling is an aerobic exercise that increases blood pressure, which can cause bleeding wounds again.


Weight Training


Although the temptation to lift weights is underway, it is after orthopedic surgery should be avoided because of the stress and tension that can cause not only muscle groups for, but also to the environment.


Aerobics


Aerobic exercise will raise your blood pressure and cause bleeding wounds. It also involves repetitive motion and stress on the muscles and surrounding tissue will increase, causing discomfort and pain.


Crunches


Crunches should be avoided after the surgery, as this will make a huge pressure to the body, causing stitches tear and slow the healing process.


Swimming


Pool after surgery should be avoided until the wound and incisions have healed. The wound can become infected when in contact with water from the water and the pool is full of chlorine irritates the wound too.


To go upstairs

 
Stair climbing is a strenuous activity that requires the heart, legs and lungs work together to support your back.


To reduce discomfort to a tolerable level, any activity that induce tension and stress should be avoided in the early stages of recovery. Take your time as you have plenty of time to recover what was lost.

The Major Types of Exercises and Their Functions



                          


Exercise is very important if you want to maintain a healthy lifestyle. The work outside regular hours with a balanced diet is essential to your health and wellbeing. Inactivity can lead to various diseases and disorders that can be fatal as well! Therefore, it is always best to exercise and stay fit.

One of the main reasons why more and more people are interested in getting exercise is the threat of obesity. Being over weight not only makes you look fat and old, but also pave the way for a host of diseases such as heart failure, diabetes, arthritis and so on. You obviously want to avoid these dangers outside, right? The best way is through a disciplined life, good eating habits and exercise routine well planned.


There are several types of exercises and each performs different functions. The type of physical training, you go through depends mainly on the problems they face and your body type. There are people who are fitness enthusiasts and undergo strict training schedules, simply because they like the exercise, while others do it because they are obese and need to lose weight.

Three main types of exercises and their functions are described below:



                        



Aerobic Exercise: Exercise This segment focuses on improving blood circulation and oxygen supply in the body. It is commonly known as cardiovascular diseases. This is often seen as the best way to lose weight. It works on a defined set of muscles for a prolonged period of time. 


 Cycling, dancing, running, sports all fall under the category of aerobic exercise. If you have a personal trainer, it will be able to guide you through this section, that is, to be able to tell how long it takes to move on aerobic training, which exercises to do here and so are right now.

Anaerobic Exercise: This type of exercise is to the muscles. If you want a toned muscular body, anaerobic exercise is what you need. Weight training, strength training and sprinting are an essential part of this type of exercise because it is designed to make your muscles stronger and more powerful.  



Typical anaerobic exercises include push-ups, pull-ups, sit-ups, rowing, etc. This requires less time than aerobic exercise and can be a good addition.


Flexibility Exercise: This is what you do before and after states. Flexibility exercises, as its name keeps your muscles supple and flexible joints. This can also be effective in relieving joint pain to a considerable extent.


All three types of exercises should be in a suitable training program.
