Type 2 Diabetes - Aerobic Exercise and Blood Sugar

Physical activity is generally recommended for people who are diagnosed as pre-diabetic. The goal: to prevent your disease from progressing to full-blown type 2 diabetes.

Researchers from the Department of Kinesiology, School of Public Health at the University of Maryland, have created a study to find out how aerobic exercise resistance training may help stop the progression of the disease. The result of his work was published in the journal Medicine and Science in Sports and Exercise in June 2011.

Study: One hundred and sixty-six participants were included in the study: 47 with pre-diabetes and 119 with normal levels of blood sugar. A standardized training program of exercise for all participants applied for six months.

In the study of the improvement was observed in the volunteers blood sugar and how they managed to convert sugar into energy. Although they were still pre-diabetic at the end of the study, pre-diabetic demonstrated greater improvement than non-diabetics.

Improvements have been carried out independently of changes in body weight of the volunteers. The authors concluded that while exercise alone is not enough to cure pre-diabetes, helped patients improve their levels of sugar in the blood and insulin sensitivity.

What is aerobic exercise? Aerobic exercise is defined as physical activity that quickens the pulse and breathing. It's Included:

brisk walking,

cycling, and

other activities that get your heart rate.

Stamina increases with increasing levels and time spent in aerobic activities.

More and more children are becoming pre-diabetic and type 2 diabetes, and some teachers have developed techniques that spelling lessons combined with aerobics. I help your child learn spelling by him or his writing a word while lifting arms raised to the letters that stand well above the line, such as b, f, h, or hands Sales on the hips for letters like A, C and E and touch toes for letters that go below the line, and g PO and.

Walking or biking to school, library or at a friend instead of being driven everywhere is another way to do aerobic activity and can help build good habits for later life. Swimming at the beach or pool this summer will be fun, and water aerobics programs are available in many community centers, or just take all of the pool to the beach or swimming.

We need a little more motivation? Play music around the pool can inspire people to want to move in time with the beat. Community centers also have aerobics class and many aerobic dance videos are available at your local library. Involve the family a good example. With younger children, put on some music and encourage them to make their own dances.

Birthday parties should not be just an excuse to eat cake and ice cream. Everyone dancing. Summer vacation was invented for children to be able to help their families to farm, and pre-diabetes was unknown in children.

What experience? The effect of reducing blood sugar levels persist 24-72 hours after exercise. The muscles continue to absorb glucose, glycogen decision. Glycogen is used in the coming years, and at other times when the body needs energy.

And do not forget to consider the amazing effects of exercise on your disease as well as in their efforts to lose weight and overall health.
